House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer pulled no punches in a jointly written editorial in USA Today.
They called who disagreed with President Obama's health care reforms "unAmerican."
To be precise, Pelosi and Hoyer wrote, "These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades."
It is Pelosi and Hoyer who are, in fact, attempting to disrupt those who would dare think for themselves. Stifling dissent is simply un-American.
Of course, imagine what would have happened had Newt Gingrich and Tom DeLay had co-authored an editorial calling those who disagreed with Republican initiatives "unAmerican." Pelosi and Hoyer would have condemned such remarks vigorously. Their friends in the liberal media would be declaring America under the siege of fascism.
Well, let me say this to Pelosi and Hoyer. Keep on calling your constituents unAmerican. If you do you might yourselves no longer in charge of Congress after the mid-term elections.
