When you consider that more American and British soldiers were killed during the D-Day invasion than have been killed in Afghanistan, I am disappointed that neither President Obama nor British Prime Minister David Cameron saw fit to issue a statement on the 66th anniversary of D-Day.
Fortunately, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper did issue a D-Day statement.
Now I know Obama made a D-Day speech last year at Omaha Beach. But it's important for Obama to acknowledge the significance of our sacrifice on the Beaches of Normandy even when there are no cameras around.
