Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez made an appearance at the Venice Film Festival yesterday for the premiere of Oliver Stone's South of the Border, a documentary about Hugo Chavez's favorite subject - Hugo Chavez.
The film was written by noted British Trotskyite Tariq Ali.
Chavez traveled to Venice after spending a couple of days in Iran with his BFF, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and agreed to sell him 20,000 barrels of oil a day. He also spent some time in Syria where he described Israel as a nation that "annihilates" people.
I wonder how long it will be before Stone makes fawning documentaries about Ahmadinejad and Assad.
