On September 11th of all dates, Derek Jeter became the New York Yankees all-time hit leader.
Jeter collected his 2,722nd career base hit when he singled down the right field line in the bottom of the 3rd inning off Baltimore Orioles pitcher Chris Tillman. In so doing, Jeter eclipsed Lou Gehrig as that storied franchise's all-time hit leader.
I might be a Red Sox fan but anytime someone passes Lou Gehrig it's a big deal.
I am planning to write more about Jeter from the point of view of Red Sox Nation.
