AP Reporting Obama Has Clinched Democratic Nomination
I just read an article from USA Today which cites a report from the Associated Press that Barack Obama has effectively clinched the Democratic Party's nomination. This is based on elected and pledged delegates including superdelegates who have pledged support for Obama both publicly and privately. For her part, Hillary Clinton will not concede or suspend her campaign. At least not now. She is scheduled to speak this evening in New York. Word has it she wants to work out details with Obama including the V-P spot. I also imagine she wants Obama to assist her with campaign debts. Voting in the final two primaries is underway in Montana and South Dakota. Stay tuned.
