For the second time this week, MDC Leader Morgan Tsvangirai was arrested and released by Zimbabwean authorities. He was held for about two hours. Tsvangirai was detained en route to a rally and was told he was engaging in illegal activities. Upon his release, Tsvangirai was sent back to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe's second largest city.
The election is in exactly three weeks. Whether it is opposition politicians activists, international relief workers or foreign diplomats, no one is immune from the wrath of Robert Mugabe. Clearly, Mugabe is conducting a campaign of intimidation. But is it working? Things are so horrible in Zimbabwe I suspect that most of the people have had all they can endure and will elect Tsvangirai on June 27th. If that is the case that is when the real trouble begins.
