Joe Sobran died yesterday of complications from diabetes. He was 64.
Sobran joined National Review in his mid-20s and would remain there for more than two decades until William F. Buckley could no longer put up with his increasingly anti-Semitic outlook and gave him his walking papers.
Few would deny that Sobran was a brilliant writer. But even the finest pens can become full of poison.
