Today, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad marked the 32nd anniversary of the Iranian Revolution by praising the uprisings in Egypt.
Of course, Ahmadinejad and the Mullahs have no such tolerance for demonstrations in their streets. Opposition leaders had requested permission to demonstrate on February 14th (ostensibly in support of Egyptian demonstrators). Not only has the opposition been denied their application but their leaders and key supporters have been placed under arrest as well as blocking their websites.
It should be noted that State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley did take Iran to task for their "hypocrisy" on this matter. Yet it must also be noted there is a hypocrisy within the Obama Administration on this matter. Why do they support regime change in Egypt but not in Iran?
