Limbaugh Challenges Obama to a Debate

Rush Limbaugh today challenged President Obama to come on his show for a one on one debate.

"If you can wipe out in a debate and prove to the rest of America that what I say is senseless and wrong, do you realize you will own the United States of America? You will have no opposition," said Limbaugh.

I expect Obama to ignore Rush. Limbaugh will up the ante and call Obama a coward. And so forth.

The only way I see Obama debating Limbaugh is if it is done on "neutral ground." The debate on NAFTA between then Vice-President Al Gore and Ross Perot on Larry King Live in 1993 comes to mind. Of course, Perot was never the same after that debate. I'm not suggesting the same fate would befall Limbaugh. But careful for what one wishes.

Honestly, I don't see this debate happening. Two out of three voters approves of Obama's performance. Obama has nothing to gain by accepting Limbaugh's challenge. Of course, if Obama's approval ratings were to fall under 40% it might be a different matter.

For the time being it keeps Limbaugh in the news.
