Last month I predicted that Alex Rodriguez would sit out the 2009 season in light of the negative reaction to his disclosure that he used steroids while with the Texas Rangers.
Well, the Yankees slugger subsequently disclosed he was having hip troubles and today it was announced he will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his hip tomorrow. He won't miss the entire season but the procedure will keep him out of the lineup until early May.
Unless the Yankees are planning to go out and get another third baseman young Cody Ransom has some very big shoes to fill.
This is going to be very long year in the new Yankee Stadium.
