Score one for Denmark.
The Danish warship Absalon responded to a distress call from the Ariella, a commercial vessel with an Antiguan flag. The ship had been taken over by Somali pirates off the Gulf of Aden.
Danish special forces boarded the ship and rescued 25 crew. The pirates had already fled the scene.
This is the first time a NATO ship has rescued a ship seized by pirates.
I wouldn't expect anything less from a country that rescue its Jews from the clutches of the Nazis nor for that matter a country that doesn't compromise freedom of expression when confronted with the threat of violence from Islamic fundamentalists.
