Tonight, Sarah Palin will be speaking in front of 6,000 people in Salina, Kansas.
Let's just say she drew a lot more people than Bob Costas.
I've never been to Salina but it nonetheless holds a special place in my heart.
My father obtained his BA from Kansas Wesleyan in the early 1960s. At the time, he was one of two Jews attending a Methodist university. A boy from the Bronx amongst all those Kansans. But he made some lifelong friends out of it. Chief amongst them is a poet who I'm sure has no affection for the former Alaska Governor.
Dad, on the other hand, loves Sarah Palin. I'm sure this will amuse him to no end.
