Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty is expected to announce that he will not be seeking a third term in 2010.
Naturally, this fuels speculation that he will seek the Republican nomination in 2012.
It was speculated that John McCain would pick Pawlenty to be his running mate last summer.
I was amongst those in that camp.
My prediction as usual was wrong.
Frankly, I am already committed. Sarah Palin has my default vote.
But if Palin doesn't run in 2012 then I would be quite comfortable supporting Pawlenty although I would obviously need to see what the field would look like. But if it's between Pawlenty and Romney then it's Pawlenty all the way.
We'll see.
