The African Union Should Suspend Zimbabwe

This morning the African Union suspended Guinea's membership. Last week, the military seized control of power after the death of its President Lasana Conte. The AU described the coup as "a flagrant violation of Guinea's constitution." (

I can think of several ways that Robert Mugabe has flagrantly violated Zimbabwe's constitution not to mention its economy, public safety and the health of its populace. Yet the African Union is nowhere to be seen or heard when it comes to Zimbabwe.
