While many world leaders have condemned Xiaobo's sentence as of this writing President Obama has said nothing.
Given his acquiescence towards China during his state visit last month and again last week in Copenhagen I cannot help but wonder if he will once again say that it is not for us to meddle.
If he does the sentiments expressed in his Nobel acceptance speech will amount to nothing more than a series of platitudes.
