The days of the New England Patriots winning championships are over.
Most people thought the Pats would get past the Baltimore Ravens having home field advantage and all.
But I thought something was amiss when they blew a fourth quarter lead against the Houston Texans last Sunday.
The Ravens were up 24-0 at the end of the first quarter. They ran on the Pats defense at will.
Tom Brady was thrice intercepted.
The only bright spot was Julian Edelman. Filling in for the injured Wes Welker, Edelman caught two touchdown passes from Brady.
The Patriots had a good run. It was fun being here when they won three Super Bowls. But all good things must come to an end and honestly it came to an end when David Tyree caught that pass off his helmet in Super Bowl XLII.
Teddy Bruschi, Willie McGinest, Assante Samuel, Troy Brown, Ty Law and Adam Vinateri are now distant memories.
Meanwhile, the Ravens go to Indianapolis to play the Colts next Sunday.
