I don't like the New England Patriots playoff hopes.
First, the Patriots had a 27-13 lead over the Houston Texans with just over 11 minutes left to play in the 4th quarter. The Texans scored three unanswered touchdowns to win the game 34-27. It was the first time the Texans have defeated the Patriots in franchise history.
Should the New York Jets lose to the Cincinnati Bengals tonight then the Texans will make their first ever postseason appearance.
That's not the way the Patriots wanted to end their regular season.
Their top wide receiver Wes Welker tore an ACL and MCL on his left knee. On top of that QB Tom Brady has been playing with broken ribs. Throw in a less than inspiring defensive game and you don't have a recipe for playoff success.
It appears the Pats will play the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the NFL playoffs. It would not surprise in the least if the Ravens were to dispense with the Pats despite having home field advantage.
