Manny Ramirez Hits 500th Home Run

On Saturday night, Boston Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez hit his 500th career homerun. Ramirez hit an opposite field homerun off Baltimore Orioles reliever Chad Bradford to give the Sox a 5-3 lead. The Sox won the game 6-3. Not to be outdone, Ramirez hit 501 yesterday. Sure it would have been nice if he had done it at Fenway but 500 homeruns is 500 homeruns. I have had the pleasure of watching Manny play at Fenway over the past eight seasons and have seen a number of those homeruns. He has such a sweet swing. Manny is the greatest right handed hitter I have seen play in person. Ramirez hit 500 the day after his 36th birthday. Should he remain healthy, Ramirez has a legitimate shot at both 600 homeruns and 3000 hits. Before you say juiced, Manny's name has never come up where it concerns steroids or HGH. Manny's been consistent force in Major League Baseball for 15 years. As they say in New England, it's Manny being Manny.
