While speaking at an international conference in Qatar, Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez said he would be willing to accept detainees from Gitmo when it closes.
Sure he would.
Just what we need. Venezuela becoming a sanctuary for international terrorists. It's bad enough Chavez is in bed with Iran and Hezbollah now he wants the Sunni fundamentalists to even things out.
The Gitmo detainees would be useful as a ready made goon squad to crush dissent against Venezuela's President for Life.
Hopefully, President Obama will have the wisdom not to take Mr. Chavez up on his offer.
But considering that Obama thinks Iran can help us in Afghanistan relying on Obama's wisdom is asking a lot.
