Violent Anti-Israel Protests Erupt in Sweden

Police clashed with anti-Israel protesters in Malmo where there was a Davis Cup match between Israel and Sweden. The protesters threw eggs, rocks and firecrackers.

No word if any of the "anti-Israel activists" were Muslim although Sweden's third largest city is described as having "a large immigrant population."

The biggest shame of it all was that the match was played in an empty arena because of security concerns. The Swedish authorities have allowed hooligans to disrupt public activities and thereby punish the majority of law abiding Swedes.

This isn't the first time an anti-Israeli protest has revolved around tennis. Last month, Israeli female tennis player Shahar Peer was denied entry into the United Arab Emirates to play in the Dubai Tennis Championships.

Of course, it matters not if its tennis or academics. If Israel is associated with anything look for it to be singled out for derision.
