Betty White to Host SNL in May

It's what the people want. Actress Betty White will co-host Saturday Night Live in May alongside former SNL alumnus Molly Shannon.

After White's appearance in a Snickers commercial during the Super Bowl, Facebook users petitioned SNL producer Lorne Michaels to include her as a guest host. In all more than half a million people signed on. Now if only the Obama Administration were this responsive with regard to health care.

At 88, White will become the oldest person to host SNL. Miskell Spillman was 80 years old when she hosted SNL in December 1977. Spillman was the winner of the "Anyone Can Host" SNL contest. She died in 1992 at the age of 94.

As baseball legend Satchel Paige often said, "Age is a question of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."
