Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy will not be in attendance at the White House to receive his Presidential Medal of Freedom today. The honor will instead by accepted by his eldest child, Kara Kennedy.
When someone is unable to attend a ceremony that is being held in their honor there's usually a very good reason for it. I suspect Ted Kennedy's condition has become worse. The passing of his older sister, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, yesterday certainly doesn't help matters. I cannot help but think that Ted Kennedy doesn't have a lot of time left.
