Souter to Retire From Supreme Court in June

Apparently Supreme Court Justice David Souter will be retiring from the bench at the end of its current session in June.

It's hard to believe that Souter has been on the Supreme Court for nearly two decades.

Its even harder to believe that Ted Kennedy and John Kerry thought Souter was in the mold of Robert Bork.

So Obama gets to pick a Supreme Court justice. This isn't like Scalia or Thomas retiring because when that happens the balance on the Court will change. But with the defection of Arlen Specter and Al Franken's election all but inevitable look for Obama to pick someone so left-wing that the Republicans will only be able to look on helplessly.
