Thoughts on Obama's Speech to Schoolchildren

The headline of this morning's Metro newspaper (which appears in various cities with subway lines such as Boston) reads:

Obama speech gets schoolkids thinking

That might be wishful thinking on the part of the person who wrote that caption.

I can understand the reservations of some parents who thought the President might engage in indoctrination. But even if he did how many kids are really paying attention?

I'm sure most of those kids were waiting for recess or lunch. Obama might be bringing change to America but kids haven't changed that much.
