Dom DeLuise, 1933-2009. R.I.P.

Actor Dom DeLuise died last night in a Los Angeles hospital due to kidney and respiratory failure. He was 75 years old.

In addition to movies and television, DeLuise authored a number of cookbooks and childrens' books.

DeLuise is probably best known for his roles in Mel Brooks' movies. My favorite was his small but memorable role in Blazing Saddles.

Needless to say, Roger Daltrey will still be laughing.

Dom DeLuise was a great guy! I worked with him in 1998, and I penned a few thoughts about the experience when I heard of his passing. Check out it out and leave a comment on my new blog entry, "I knew Dom DeLuise When He Was a Priest: A Eulogy" http://www.joshuajmasters.com/blog
