A-Rod Homers on First Pitch in '09 Debut

Alex Rodriguez made a dramatic entrance in his 2009 debut as he slammed the first pitch he saw from Baltimore Orioles pitcher Jeremy Guthrie into the left field bleachers in Camden Yards for a three run home run.

It gave the New York Yankees a 3-0 lead and the Bronx Bombers would win 4-0 to snap a five game losing streak.

A-Rod made headlines in the off season when he revealed he took performance enhancing drugs during his time with the Texas Rangers. Selena Roberts of Sports Illustrated has released a book on A-Rod that asserts he took these substances while still in high school.

The three time AL MVP missed the first month of the season due to arthroscopic hip surgery and will have to undergo another procedure after the season.

A-Rod can be accused of many things. Being dull isn't one of them. Exactly the way the sports media in New York like it.
